The Obituary of Jacqueline Marie Parr

Jackie was born in Tampa Florida on August 28th 1958 to the family of James and Maymie Cox. She had three siblings as well as a half brother and sister. She grew up in in the Tampa area of Florida where she met the love of her live Gregory R. Parr. They were married in a modest and intimate ceremony on April 8th 1977. She soon moved to Texas for a short period while her husband attended basic training in the United States Air Force. From Texas the two where first stationed at Hill AFB in Utah where they made a start as a young married couple. For the next few years the two would struggle as all young married couples do and would eventually conceive their only child Bradley R. Parr. They then where stationed to Shaw AFB in South Carolina where they had their child. From there they moved to Anchorage Alaska, to Homestead Florida, and eventually settled for the last time back in Utah in the city of Roy. During these times Jackie faced and would overcome a variety of challenges that came with being the wife of a man in the Air Force, being a mother, as well as battling and dealing with personal demons that came from her life and some of the choices she made with it.

Jackie lived for her family and was a very dedicated and loving wife and mother. She often utilized her time, talents, and efforts to keep her home a clean, loving, and welcoming environment. Even though she only had one child she ended up becoming a mother to many of her son's friends including Dustin Cooper, A.J. Hoopes, and Jesse Sorenson who the latter she would take in and let live in their home for over a year. She more then often gave to a number of charities ranging from organizations that helped find animals new homes, to charities that made sure that no child would go without treatments for cancer. She was a very giving person in general and would make sure that those she loved where not only taken care of, but where spoiled rotten. Jackie was a very passionate individual when it came to not only her family, but also her hobbies and interests. Some of the talents, hobbies, and interests include needle point, cooking, playing games, watching the "Price is Right" religiously, and gardening. She loved the Wizard of OZ, Pokemon, and the Legend of Zelda  video game series.

The latter years of her life where truly borrowed time as her death was predicted by her doctor almost a decade before her actual death. As she was probably the most stubborn person to ever live, she wouldn't have anyone tell her what she was going to do and continued to live. The last few years of her life where not easy though. She was in chronic pain, tired, and the last few months indeed where both hard on her and her husband as her health rapidly declined. During this time she was able to see the marriage of her son and the welcomed into the family the daughter she always wanted, Rebecca D. Parr. Rebecca in turn gave birth to her first grandchild name Adilyn Grace Parr. She adored "her girls" more then she could convey due to her health but rest assured that they was her pride in joy in the last years of her life. In the last months of her life she would come to know that she was going to have a second grandchild. Again though because she was both stubborn and impatient, she more then likely died in order to meet Gwen before the rest of us would. We know that she is the guardian angel of her family, but especially her grand daughters.

Jackie was a wonderful person and did so much with what little or lot that she had in this life and contributed to the success and happiness of more people then she would ever know. Jackie was an agnostic but had a very deep sense and belief that there was a creator that was watching over her and that there was more to this life then one can see. She at times would pray when things where rough for her. Even though she wasn't religious, she was truly a saint and though she had her demons, she is now in the presence of her Creator and Savior. She is now at rest, she is now pain free, she is now seeing the effect of all the good she did while here on earth. She is now reunited with those that preceded her in death. Those that welcomed her home are her parents James and Maymie Cox. Her brothers Jimmy and Earl Cox. Her in-laws Carson Wayne and Marion Parr, and her brother in-law Michael Parr. She returned home early in the morning on March 14th 2014.

Jackie you are loved and missed more then words and tears can express. We look forward to one day seeing your beautiful smile again while your warm hug welcomes your family back home. Until then, try not to boss God around in Heaven.
